Hello, I’m Bill. Welcome to my little corner of the internet.

I’m a retired U.S. Navy Senior Chief, a retired United Methodist pastor, a photographer, and an author. Those may sound like four different chapters of a life, but to me they’re all connected by the people I’ve met, the places I’ve been, and the stories I’ve collected along the way.
Photography has taught me to slow down and notice things I might otherwise walk right past. Faith has taught me that grace often shows up in ordinary moments. My Navy years gave me experiences and friendships I still treasure. And writing gives me a place to bring those threads together—sometimes thoughtfully, sometimes with a little humor.
That’s what Simply Bill Barber is about. You’ll find photographs, reflections on faith and life, travel stories, memories from my Navy days, and the occasional thought that seemed worth sharing. I don’t expect every post to fit neatly into one category. Life rarely does.
I hope you’ll look around, find something that makes you smile or think, and perhaps come back from time to time.
I’m glad you’re here.
— Bill
